torchredgt
I brought in my SGT for my first oil change yesterday and decide to go into the show room and look around. They had about 6 gt500s with a 20adm, and 3. A blue vert, and coupe and a left over 07 white, not very equipt. All with a 10k adm. So I got to my salesman and ask him, how much they want for the white 07. He told me, what it says on the window 51k. I was like" are you serious?" I paid 37 for my black one here with more options 3 months ago. He tells me, that I did extremely well and I just happen to come in at the right time and they didn't really know what they had and I got a steal. This is weird to me, because not only do I see that you can now get 0% for 60 months, but also have seen new SGTs as low as 35,000. He said the reason is, because Mr.Shelby isn't getting older and not doing to well. From what I see, he looks pretty damn good to me. Its sad, some dealerships are trying to bank off the fact that Mr. Shelby is now 85 . Any thoughts?

TheKurgan
Dealer's around here were jacking up SGT prices to $45,000 also. That's exactly why I bought mine from a dealer in Texas on ebay. Got it for $1000 under sticker.

LuLu
I paid 34,400 out the door for my Lulu, zero percent for 36 months. 37K for a Bullitt doesn't sound too bad. LuLu
For you Chicagoland guys, my friend Bob Crane at Court Street Ford has a Bullitt on the salesfloor, wants sticker and nothing on top of that, other than the usual tax, title, license, ect. 1-815-9939-9600 X240. He's 90 miles south on I-57 in Bourbonais, but no adm. May be worth the drive?
Shelby-Don
do the dealers think that God forbid Mr. Shelby should pass that the company will close ? I guess it's just greed, but it sure would make me think twice about any future purchases at a dealership thats so greedy. OK you can make 10K ADM on one car or potentially 2-3K each on future purchases if you treat me right.
nilkilla
in some ways 08s are more than 07s. otherwise, other dealers may just be realizing that only 7k or so S-GTs are being built. We have 12 on the ground here, with a couple of 08s incoming. no mark up over msrp. They aren't moving as fast as the GT500s, so they don't hold the price. Average everyday cars that dealers have to give away at invoice? Who pays sticker any more? Most new cars have less than $2K mark up to begin with, so what are dealers going to make $2K - $3K each on??? You mean $2 - $3 HUNDRED each? That is about average on most new cars IF you are lucky! Maybe I should check it out as a DD? Wickstrom in Barrington IL, right? $34,400 out the door means your dealer messed up big time and forgot to add in the $8,390 SAI cost they were billed separately for on their parts statement. You can't buy this car for $34,400 if it was a base GT model with no options on it, muchless $34,400 out the door! Your dealer LOST $7K - $8K easy on that one! There were a few dealers that sold these in the very beginning before knowing they was going to be a separate $8,390 charge billed to their parts statement on this car. Many dealers thought that $2,100 Shelby Upfitters cost on the invoice was the cost from SAI and sold these based on that price without knowing about the $8,390 cost being added to everything. So at $34,400 out the door your dealer sold you the GT Mustang at sticker and never added the $8,390 cost from SAI. In the end you got the last laugh on that deal!!! If ya don't live in Cook, and transfer plates from another car, it's 34,281.73 Financing/Rebates...No programs, 5.9% for 36 months and 6.9% for 60. I might be busy Saturday... See? LOL I respect your point of view, but no one ever called me back about a 7-8K "error" as it has happened to me before in other deals. As for accessories, my sticker says I have the Shaker 500 audio system w/Sirius (which I have never use), heated seats, IUP and 54U group. Not much else on the sticker, 'cept for the 1K "gas guzzler" tax. Total invoice list on the base GT was 28,597 as it left Flat Rock, MI to SAI. The SAI sticker was in the window at delivery, so, if they missed this, it's their bad. My purchase was last August, an '07 when the '08s were coming off the truck. Maybe they lost their azz, maybe not, can't say. But, I can prove my purchase price if need be. But, as I just posted, their prices for an '08 Bullitt are very reasonable as well. This dealership is in Illinois' "corn belt", where a John Deere, or, an F350 dualie are the prize family hot rods. I suspect sports cars are low on their list of money makers, maybe this has something to do with it?

backafter20
I was just offered an 07 black SGT for $34.5K. I know it's a good deal, but there aren't many options on it and the hood scoop is warped. If there was an easy fix for the scoop, I guess I could update the grille and hoodpins, but I was hoping for some heated seats and HIDs. BTW, at this particular dealership, they have several SGTs that they can't seem to give away, or at least that's what they act like. On the other hand, they still want 25 over on the GT500s! Well like I said, maybe so. Can't say I understand the money all that well. All I have ever asked Bob Crane is "how much to drive it home". Bob gets this about me and he doesn't joke around, or put me into the F&I guy for aftermarket upgrades and add-ons. He knows I will shop his numbers, and gets to the bottom line first time. But, nothing has been said about it, and their out-the-door price for a Bullitt seems very reasonable as well. Maybe it's their program? 30 years ago, I worked at a small retail gun shop. When the new S&W model 66 (wheel gun, a model 19 in stainless) came out, we could get all we wanted. But we had to buy 20 sets of S&W handcuffs and 500 rounds of .357 magnum ammo for each gun purchased. Maybe this is how it works here? For the life of me, I can't figure out how/why Court Street Ford ends up with these sports cars in the corn belt. Maybe they can afford it someway? If you could see how many state/county vehicles and farm trucks they move out the door in one day, there may be a "balance" in the background. I don't know, and all I want to know, is how much to drive it home.

The system kept kicking that option out anytime someone tried ordering heated seats on the SGT. But a few dealers were able to get that in somehow. I think Son-of-GT was able to get his SGT ordered with heated seats if I remember. Right now Ford is including all rebates on the 07 SGT. So now there is a $2,500 rebate available OR 0% up to 48 months or 0.9% for 60 months or 2.9% for 72 months. You can take the rebate OR the financing rate. You can't get both. So with a $2,500 rebate now available on the 07 SGT everyone should be able to find some really good deals.

I don't know, and all I want to know, is how much to drive it home. There are no special spifs on cars based on ordering x number or taking a bunch of something else. You may be able to get extra units allocated to you, but as far as any cost goes, all dealers pay the exact same prices on the same cars. So selling a bunch of something else does nothing to reduce the cost on a specific vehicle just because of selling a lot of something or taking a lot of something else. If invoice on a particular vehicle is $30K for example, ALL dealers pay the same $30K invoice amount to Ford regardless of how many units you sell or how many extra units of something you agree to take. Now what dealers will do is they will sometimes apply write down money towards a certain vehicle just to get rid of it. Every dealer applies a certain amount from every vehicle they sell as pack money. For example, they may take a $100 from every new car sale that they put into their pack fund. Then when they have an older unit that has been sitting there for months they will take some of that pack money and apply it to that vehicle to write down their cost on it. This allows them to basically sell it at a loss, yet still show a profit on it even though they sold it for several thousand less than they actually paid for it. Other than that, there is no extra incentive that Ford gives a particular dealer on their vehicles because of what they may order or take a lot of extra of. Basically, all the inventory is earned based on a earn and turn system. The more units you sell this year, the more you will earn next year which just allows you to get more units to sell. This is why the high volumn dealers that sold a LOT of regular mustangs in the previous year got extra Shelbys to sell that other dealers didn't and couldn't get. There were some dealers that got as many as 15 - 17 GT500's, while most dealers got only one to sell. The more units you sell the more units Ford rewards you with. But regardless of what you earn or don't earn, every dealer pays the same for these vehicles.

Is that correct? If so invoice was probably about 3K less, about 25, 600. Add 8390 and LuLu probably bought his car for invoice plus the 8390. If dealer bought the car on the x, y, or z plan he paid even less than invoice. Even on invoice there is holdback so the dealer probably still made money. Correct me if I am wrong. ShelbyDude
i bought mine for $38.9k at Ford. the Shelby Auto sticker it had was priced at $44k So the dealer added their own mark up to the sticker? SAI only put the $1,000 GGT on their stickers, with the exception of some early builds they sent out in the beginning. In the beginning they sent them out showing the actual dealer cost instead of adding a small mark up for the dealers to make any profit. After the dealers all complained about this SAI sent new window stickers that only listed the $1,000 GGT on it. This allowed dealers to list any price they wanted to show as the Shelby upfit cost. They fixed that for the 08's. The 08's now list the MSRP from SAI on the sticker instead of the dealer invoice cost like they did on the 07's. But to figure the MSRP on your 07, take the MSRP on the factory window sticker that reflects the GT Mustang, then add $7,390 + $1,000 GGT = Total MSRP. Anything above that amount is dealer added. IUP, Shaker 500, Wheel Lock Kit, Active Anti Theft, Charcoal Panel, SIRIUS satelite radio, and other options. I paid invoice and saw the actual invoice. That was in late August 07. BTW, a dealer offered a 08 convertible to me for 250.00 over invoice. So nobody should be paying ADM on a Shelby GT anymore. Just my opinion. Anybody should be able to get a 08 for MSRP or less. That means MSRP + Shelby Price.

Are dealers making up their own Shelby stickers?
