SHELBY1
Just heard this morning from the regional svt rep That there will be production delay's on cars ordered with the shaker 1000 system. I heard the same thing from my dealer on Friday 6/2/06. The regional manager said, the "material hold" is a result of the Shaker 1000 stereo system. They apparently weren't thinking that there would be any "commodity" issues on these vehicles, but currently, they have a shortage. At this point, it won't make a difference as far as getting the vehicle scheduled the way it sounds though, as there are 2 or 3 dealers in my zone that will get scheduled in front of everbody else, and then we'll get put in a "lottery" draw for the remainder of the scheduling. This is the first I've heard about a "lottery" draw for scheduling. Anyone else hear this?
rpretzel
Just heard this morning from the regional svt rep That there will be production delay's on cars ordered with the shaker 1000 system. I saw the following post over on www.GT500Forums.com regarding the Shaker 1000 delay as it applies to orders for the coupe: "I was at my dealer yesterday and saw a letter regarding the delay with the Shaker 1000 and the letter said that it only applied to the convertible so you should not have a delay." Have any other dealers out there received this letter?

rpretzel
Coupes are included with with the vert on this as of this mornings rep news. That's not the answer I wanted. Did the rep indicate how much of a delay we are looking at? One month? Six months? More?
442forever(noolds)
No, other then it will throw the order pull timing off as those in line with the 1000 will be passed over until an order without it comes up to be pulled. They are accessing the product shortage per numbers ordered.
FordGeek
I'm not sure how the whole Shaker 1000 issue is panning out. I currently have a confirmed production date of June 12 on my car. The only thing I don't have is the Sirius statellite radio (I love my CDs too much!). My order status is "sent to plant" and there never has been a material hold on it. I placed my order the day the order banks were opened. Not sure if this might have made a difference, but as far as I know everything is a go including the Shaker 1000. I know little about the Shaker 1000 and Sirus Satelite Radio. The car I have ordered has both. As I understand it, if you have the Siris, you don't have to sign up for the satelite servce. Is this correct?

Jesse_Bolt
I called my dealer today and talked with the guy whom places the orders. I asked about a material hold due to the Shaker 1000's and he responded he hasn't received a build date and/or confirmation on the Shelby GT500 I ordered with the Shaker 1000 option. He said when he receives the information, it will note a material hold if it affects the order at that time. I told him if a material hold on the Shaker 1000 causes a delay, to go ahead and delete the Shaker 1000 option. JB

MMMMM, dude, I hate to break it to you but you did not have a Shelby GT500 built on May 25th. Production had not yet started.
DVS2XS
The dealer may have just confused the dates. Some dealers/sales managers do not understand the confirmations and status changes very well. If there is a shortage of units for the Shaker 1000, some cars will be built with it, and then as supplies dry up, later cars will be put on hold - unless more units arrive in time. DutchGT500
Thank god I do not want the Shaker 1000. Too much shaking going on. 500 is good enough, IMHO.

Alloy Dave
Or you could activate for Life for $500. If you plan to keep the car, then this might be a good option since you would not need to pay again. I don't think I'd pay for "lifetime" on one of these. In 5 years they'll have "Sirius II", and it won't work with the current boxes I'm sure. If you take the $500 you were going to pay for lifetime, invest in the stock market earning 10%/year, you'd be able to pay for 4 months every year without ever eroding your principle. Then, when Sirius II comes out, use the $500 to buy the newer technology. In the "lifetime" contract, does it say you get your money back if they discontinue broadcasting in Sirius I? I doubt it. JMHO. Just look at all those games your kids bought for the Sega Genesis that are no longer of any use....case in point.

gabed1
I have a full vin for the Convert. that I ordered with at shaker 1000? Does that mean my car has been built? Or are vin #'s assigned and then a built date is given? Is it possible some of the Converts were built with the Shaker 1000's before the hold went into effect? My understanding is that Ford pulls your order, then assigns a VIN, then determins a build date. Last I heard Ford had pulled my order, but still waiting for VIN. KingCobra.
