X-Plan Probability for '08 GT500

I am wondering how realistic it would be to get an '08 GT500 on the X-Plan. Am I just dreaming?

Right now you are. Ford does not offer any plan sales on this car. No plan sales. No rebates. No financing. No nothing.

Even IF ford was to offer plan sales, your only problem will be finding a dealer that would sell it for that. We are a LONG way away from dealers taking $300 - $400 gross profit deals on this car.

Right now MSRP is as good as gets IF you can find those, and in the rare cases you can get lucky and get one under MSRP on ebay where a dealer puts one on with no reserve with a starting price under MSRP.

Shelbydude is right. You won't see an X-Plan price for the GT500. It's not offered. It's not about finding a dealer to sell it for your X Plan, it's that it doesn't exist. There is no X/D/Z/A plan pricing for these vehicles.

Best case scenario you'll see ford throw some rebate money, dealer cash, or financing incentives. Although I wouldn't hold my breath for that either. If you find one close to MSRP you're doing great.

That's the thing, the no reserve listings usually start at the MSRP point.

Well if you are the only bidder then you should get it for MSRP if there is no reserve set.

Many set reserves at $5K, $10K or whatever over and start the bidding at MSRP. So I guess a starting bid at MSRP with no reserve is as good as it gets right now. What is wrong with that?

Like every one said if you can find a MSRP deal go for it, your way ahead of the game at this point. And if they dont build the 09 model which i think ford will, but who knows the 08 prices will go up again . You wont find any msrp deals . I think the GT500 is an awsome machine and worth the $

Any chance on being able to order one for around MSRP? Or at least not getting slammed?

If you can find a dealer willing to sell one for that AND one that has allocation to order one still.

With only 4 - 5 months left allocations will be thin between dealers that have any left to order. These are usually scheduled a couple months in advance. So any dealers with any allocation for this month will be cars that are getting scheduled for March/April build.

Just finding one for MSRP is a lot of work. Being picky on color and options and getting it for MSRP drastically reduces your chance of finding one.

Are you talking about the Biondi Car. They listed that car twice. The first time it ended with someone getting it at or close to sticker. The second time they ended it early. It was the same car. Something fishy there.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I've seen a couple go that exact route and one go for a couple bucks under. It is good if it is your color combination. A dealer here in Pittsburgh had an Alloy coupe on Ebay and it went for right around sticker. It really is amazing that these cars can command a full sticker price or more after 18 months. I can't say that I have ever seen this before with any other car. They hit a grand slam with this one for sure.

GRAND SLAM you should own one.I could not imagine what this car could do,I own other muscle cars before but nothing like this factory production car no mods.I got it at msrp on list in 06 but worth the wait. This is a dream come true. This the most awesome ford I ever driven. Thanks goes to Shelby & SVT what a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion, the only reason this car has held such a demand and has brought the kind of premiums it has for this long is because Ford under priced the car to begin with.

I have yet to hear one person complain where they felt the car wasn't worth the amount they paid, and I'm talking mostly about those that paid huge ADM's for one. Everyone I heard say anything is that it was worth every penny. They can't ALL be wrong.

I've said it before and I will continue to say it. Had Ford priced this car much higher they would have still sold this good. Only difference being that dealers would have probably never got the kind of mark ups they got. Instead of it going to dealers it would have just gone to Ford instead. And I'm sure more buyers would have lined up more willing to pay the higher price knowing that was Ford's money instead of dealer mark up money.

I feel very lucky to get the deal I got, but if I had to I would have paid a lot more if that was the only way I could have gotten one.

Hi, after owning several classic mustangs including a #'s matching Highland Grn 68 GT390 4spd, I was about to order a new Bullitt. However, when I arrived @ the dealership( I am also a sales manager @ a GM dealership) I saw the most beautiful car I have ever seen. On the floor was an 08 Vapor Silver w/ Black stripes GT500. The car was prev. sold but the buyer had financing trouble. The dear offered me the car @ MSRP! He had a 10G add-on next to it. I couldn't pass it up. I figured @ MSRP of 45K vs. paying MSRP of 34K for the Bullitt was a better buy. I hope I was right. This is my first Shelby. I haven't even driven one yet! I will pick it up on the 15 of January. Do you guys think I did the right thing? BTW, The Bullitt cars are taking 3-4 mos to order now. I love the Bullitt but every dealer in my area, if they have one, are asking 10-15K over window.

Anyway, glad to be here. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

Anyone that gets a GT500 for MSRP has gotten the deal of the year, I like the Bullitt's as well but would take a GT500 anyday over a Bullitt, if anything the first time you drive your Shelby and feel the 500 HP you will be very happy with your purchase! After I drove my first one I had to have a second one !

You made the right choice for sure.... The 2001 Bullitt was a better looking car IMO..... The new body style does not compliment the stripped down look of the Bullitt...Maybe if they gave it more horse power to be a true sleeper you would have something there, but all you get is a few handling mods and a stripped down gt mustang for more $$$$$$... No, when you step on the gas pedal of your GT500 you will be thanking your self for the decision you made..

ENJOY!!!!!
