Shelby No Longer Taking Deposits for SS

Recommended Posts

Hi guys;

Thought I should let other members know, I called Cynthia at Shelby last night to put down my $10K deposit and was informed (very politely) that while they would add my name to the supersnake list, they are so backlogged with cars (Cynthia mentioned they had 400 deposits in hand) that they will not finish the cars with they already have deposits for until after the summertime. :cry:

So while I was able to get a spot on the list it appears I am going to have to wait quite a while to get my car done. Incidentally, I also asked if it made any difference if I had the conversion done at Tasca (which is my intention anyway) and she said no.

So someone does not misinterpret this I WAS NOT TOLD THE LIST WAS CLOSED, just that they want to clear the backlog of current cars before taking other peoples money unnecessarily.

Guess I will be driving my 08 stock for a while....

On the bright side of things I can at least get some feedback from a few members who have already had the conversion done and decide which suspension, exhaust, and other stuff to go for!

Just curious.... how would there not be a difference if you had it done at Tasca?

Is it just because they are not taking money now?

Cause I find it hard to believe that they are booked til after the summer!

I don't understand this either. When I spoke to Kyle at Tasca a few weeks ago he seemed to think there were only about 25 cars that were planning on coming to Tasca for the conversion. Knowing that some Owners will only want Shelby in Vegas to do it I can't see how this will not change scheduling for Tasca or other mod shops versus Vegas.

Kyle if you read this drop me a PM with your thoughts if you can.

thanks;

hi Guys,

First, let me clearify, there are 400 on the 07 list with deposits and over 200 on the 08 . We have stopped taking the deposits until we work out the schedule for us ad the mod shops. Once we start production and get the mod centers up, we will call back and take deposits . We are setting up 15 lifts to do supersnakes plus we will have more soon.

So, dont worry or get dismayed, we are just trying to get everything set and get going.

I drove in with the Shelby and the Manager had nothing but Good things to say about you...He even knew you worked for Mattel, they even helped me to remove a little dent on the back and the Person is Great for doing this.
