Keep looking and be patient. After they all sold at list price $995, about a month later many went on eBay for as high as $2500. Then about a month after that the prices made it down to around $1450. I was hoping they would have made it down to the $800 range and that's when I would have considered buying one but as fate would have it #038 showed up on eBay. Since my car is 07SGT0038 I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. I ended up paying $1825. Since it was the matching number, to me it was worth it and I had max bid of $2500. If I didn't find the matching number, I would still be waiting. Good luck and I hope you find the right one at the right price. Some are sending theirs to Shelby for a signature as I'll be doing while at the BDB in 2 weeks.

Speaking of the Shelby GT Guitar...

I bought one a while back, paid too much of course, but I'm in the guitar biz, so I'm used to collectibles appreciating when they're in a limited run like that. 6000 cars, only 200 guitars... bound to happen.

Anyway, the reason I bought it was to have as a template to make a WHITE one... since my car is white. I've started designing the proto, so I thought I'd share some "artist renditions" with you all:

The first idea was just to make the black paint white (keep in mind that the Shelby and Powered By Ford stuff will come later).

This second pic shows a few more changes toward the "white" idea.

The third one is where I think I've settled. The maple neck and fretboard makes more sense on the white guitar.

Feedback (pardon the pun)?

As I dream this out, I'm making a few changes, mainly in the accuracy of the font in the stripes.

Here's the side-by-side with more detail added:

Jer,

Cool stuff.

I had a Shelby GT guitar and sold it a couple of months ago. I have been thinking of building another unit, this time to match my GT500. Vista blue with tungsten stripes.

That guitar is cool but I need something to suit my style so a traditional strat set up is what I'm after......

Where are you getting your bodies and necks or are you making those yourself?

I'll probably go with USA Custom Guitars... their wood is pretty dynamite...

As for making them myself... I WISH I had that talent!

In keeping with the theme, have you tried an all white fretboard with black dots?

Opposite of the black Fender?

BTW, anyone know the where-a-bouts of #117?

Todd, can you post a picture of your GT500 guitar? Who's it made by?

It is the Shelby GT guitar.

As far as I know there is not a GT 500 Guitar.

I own a shelby GT 500 40th.

I bought this Guitar because I like the look and the fact that they only made 200 of them.

I thought you posted you had a GT500 guitar, sorry my bad. I'd check back a little later, a special one may show up.
