NeoGeo630
I saw a 2008 Shelby GT black with silver stripes today on my way to work. It looked SWEET!!! I really like the rear fascia on it. Is that the same rear fascia that is on the Shelby GT500, the one that is sold on the shelby performance parts site? Is the front fascia different than whats on the stock Mustang GT? I'd really like to get that rear fascia on my regular GT (once I get it next week). But I'm worried it'll look funny if the stock front fascia on the regular GT is higher than the rear fascia from the Shelby GT. Is the Shelby GT front fascia for sale anywhere? The front and rear fascias on the Shelby GT are those designed for the California Special. The rear looks very similar to the GT500s but I am not sure if it is exactly the same. Either way you should be able to find them somewhere. Maybe at your local Ford Parts counter.
moabman
You can get them both from Ford - I did!
JeffIsHereToo
The rear was designed for the GT500, later used on the CA Special, then on the SGT. The front was designed for the CA Special. BOTH are available as parts directly from Ford and bolt on. Have fun!

jaydub Mach1
However, the rear fascia for the SGT is different than the one for GT500.
JeffIsHereToo
However, the rear fascia for the SGT is different than the one for GT500. Really? How so? My friend and I have had our cars side by side, mine an SGT and his a GT500, and haven't seen any difference. Did we miss something?

My friend and I have had our cars side by side, mine an SGT and his a GT500, and haven't seen any difference. Did we miss something? I noticed that the lower black portion extends all the way around to the rear wheel wells on the GT500. On the SGT, it's only black in the rear portion. Of course, on the black SGT's it's black all over!!

The CA Special and SGT have a "similar" designed lower facia with the GT500 extending around to the wheels and the SGT ending at the exhaust. Thanks! ShelbyPilot
....it's not just a difference in how they are painted? The black finish on the fascia is different then the black finish on my fender.

NeoGeo630
Uhhh... The black SGT would be a 2007, right? Well, I thought it was a 2008 because from pictures online the 2007 SGT does not have the rear fascia with the diffusers. At least thats what they show on Edmunds.com http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drive...rticleId=116496 But maybe the rear fascia with the diffusers is an optional item? I dunno, the car I saw could very well have been a 2007. I just know it was a SGT.

The prototype cars had the standard Mustang GT rear fascia. The production cars come with the one you saw.
