SLB8SNK
As stated yesterday, several of us knew about this for some time, but something still perplexes me. I understand the "more light" thing, but I have to imagine this will make the cockpit louder? I mean with a vert, at least when up the cockpit is pretty silent, whereas this is basically glass, no roof liner or padding, I would imagine this would be louder? Not to mention hot or cold interior depending on outside sun shine? Oh well, cool for some, but not for me!

mach1fever
We all knew about it, but this is the first time I have seen something from ford on this. I know you appreciate that per your other posts Dan . Anywho they say in the release that they put a strip of vynl accross it and a manual shade to keep out the sun if it gets too hot. If I got one I would have it tinted here in florida. There are no laws on how dark you can do the top of your car. I would imagine climate (other than the sun) would be no different than normal because of all the glass already in the greenhouse.

I did not read the article, but what you said makes sense. I think I would still go for a vert rather than the glass top, however for about 2k rather than 6k for the vert, a nice option! BTW, I am heading down to Florida tomorrow for a couple days! Ft. Myers area... you near there?
Son of GT
Yeah, and I imagine that any Shelby that could ordered with the GB roof can only be ordered with stripe delete, at least the top stripes anyway. Can't imagine that anyone would want two Le Mans stripes running over their glass roof, and just having the top stripes on the f-bumper, hood, rear deck, and rear bumper wouldn't look right (to me anyway). Super Snake
Gotta believe this is based on the vert body, no? Maybe the one major difference I felt when I drove the vert was more understeer my coupe is well balanced and I can easily turn the front with the wheel or the throttle I couldn't get the nose of the vert to respond to my right foot as easy. mach1fever
Your right, but I believe they are based on the coupe. The unibodies are welded without the sheet metal for the roof. Besides I believe they use the piller supports to to form a cradle to put the tops in. That is why there is a black strip on there on each side. That structure is what provides the rigidity of the unibody, so I don't know if it would make that big of a difference.

Not sure what you mean? I (at least best I can tell) do not notice any under-steer on my car? My understanding was the feel was pretty much the same on both cars? I know there are some minor differences, I think the coupe is slightly stiffer, but other than that, I thought the same? Anyone with a vert, who has driven both, who can speak to this? Wonder if the film on the outside makes it hard to clean? Looks like it is somewhat ttransparent with little holes all over, like a screen. Think it would be a pain to keep clean?
