Worst nightmare, need ideas!

Last saturday, i skidded with my car on a slightly wet road and hit the crash barrier with the right rear Quarter panel :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Today I received the expertise from the insurance saying I habe to replace the rear Quarter panel ( which actually goes along the roof to the windscreen. Along with that, the rear axle and suspension is damaged, so that i have to change the complete axle with CA´s and shocks and so on.

Nothing happened to me by the way.

Now my questions:

Should I stick with the 8.8" rearend or upgrade to a 9" rearend?

Stock brakes or Supersnake?

Stock paint or customizing ( car has to be painted from back to Windscreen ) ?

Along with that, which clutch should i use?

Bandit (Ralf)-

I had the same ideas after a tree limb on a dark back road got in my way a month or so ago. My damage was to the front end.

In your situation if also doing engine mods, I would go with the 9" rear end (Currie makes a good one) and the paint. I am repainting mine in a custom color combo that I came up with (It should be done for the Nationals in Tulsa)

The brakes can be done when you have the time, but do not have to be done at this time. The Baer brakes from the SS are the way I will go when the $$$ allow.

Depending on the power you are putting out a SPEC dual disk clutch would be a good choice.

Bandit, Darkside;

Look at your misfortunes as a beaconing.... primer 'em and drive 'em ...start the trend...no more garage queens!!!!

Senile in Shelbyland,

SnakeEater

I NEVER STOPPED driving it as the actual damage was minimal, the chin spoiler has a chunk missing near the attachment point on the passenger side where it tore out from the front bumper cover. When the weather closes me out for the year, the repairs/mods will happen.

JUST SAY NO TO THE GARAGE QUEEN!!!!!!!! DRIVE IT HARD AND PUT IT IN THE GARAGE HAPPY!!!

@SnakeEater:

I picked up the car in May of this year with 500 miles on it, at the time of the accident I had 13.000 miles, so no Garage queen. And yes, car will be painted in a new colour called flat black by BASF so I have a custom Shelby then with some red pinstriping on it.

@darkside:

Thank you for answering my questions!

"Should I stick with the 8.8" rearend or upgrade to a 9" rearend?" Upgrade to the 9" http://www.moserengineering.com/Pages/Hous...hous-ford9.html

"Stock brakes or Supersnake?" Neither...If you want a real upgrade, go with the AP Racing brake set-up for the GT500 http://www.brake-pros.com/product.asp?id=A...amp;model=GT500

The clutch? What's the matter with the stock clutch...
