chris_garcia624
Hello you all, I will be towing my SGT from Fort Knox, Ky to Mercedes, Tx and then to Fort Rucker, AL. I just purchased a 16' x 6' 1/2" car haul trailer for my SGT. My question is where should I tie down the car from?? Has anyone hauled their SGT on a car hauler before, any info would be appreciated. Also I havent boughten any tie down straps yet, anyone recommend a specific strap for me to use?? I have never towed a car on a full hauler before so i am pretty clueless on this, but i want to ensure i do the right thing as not to scratch or bend anything on my SGT. Thank you all in advance for any feedback, illistrations, websites, etc that could help me.
Sharp GT500
Our Shelby's came with some good info on towing. They point out you might need 4X4s just to get it up the ramps. I would start with that info and hopefully some one here can give you the rest.
Snoopy
Tire tie downs is the best way to tow a car, but not sure the type trailer you have if it can be utilized. example... http://www.redtrailers.com/ShowItem.asp?id=1275500

Go arund the rear axle with the axle straps then hook your strap to it. Hook your front to some where one the frame do do not hook to you swap bar or any other part of the front suspension. Because the car is lower it may be a little tuff to get under it to hook things up. But it can be done. Be sure to crisscross the straps. When you get to Ft. Rucker look me up. I am retired from there and I have a Black 07 #3458. Bob Mathis (334) 894-6278 or PM me.

Thank you all in advance for any feedback, illistrations, websites, etc that could help me. Hi, I hauled mine back here to San Diego from Shelby LV. I picked up 4 wide yellow straps from home depot to take with me. My ramps were too steep and the car barely fit onto the trailer side to side. I have 20" wheels. John will recruit some help for you and he will jump in as well to help you load so don't be bashful and ask for help. They will bring out planks for you to drive up on. John's helper put the straps on safely for me and synched the car down for me also. He knew where to place the straps without damaging any components on the car. I made sure I had a spare tire for the trailer because you just never know. Also check your straps periodically on the way home. Look over your car real good to make sure you get everything you ordered because you will be floating on air. They forgot my brake duct kit I ordered and did not notice until I was halfway home. Now it is like pulling out a rusty nail to get them to send me what I ordered. I have threatened and Begged and still no Brake duct and it has been over 2 months. Hope this helps, CLINK
