Peaches does ours in the oven, but she puts it in one of those cooking bags. It keeps the bird real moist. It also makes the clean up a breeze. Just throw the bag away. :happy feet:

Last night she did a roast in a cooking bag and the meat just fell apart it was so moist.

When you deep fry a turkey it seals in all the flavor instantly plus it cooks quicker. I use a special blend peanut oil for best results.

Example:

15 Lb Turkey @ 350F = 52 1/2 minutes (3.5 minutes per Lb.)

18 Lb Turkey @ 350F = 63 minutes

20 Lb Turkey @ 350F = 70 minutes

And for a 24 Lb Turkey?

This is cruel, what did the helpless, defenseless little turkeys ever do to you all? :hysterical2:

Did you ever see the TV Show ...... WKRP in Cincinnati?

I like the episode when Les Nessman gives out Turkeys for their Radio promotional and takes them all up in a Helicopter & throws them out one by one not realizing that Turkeys don’t fly & they drop to their death in the middle of a crowd below?

Now that was a priceless monument in time!

They have special deep fryers for these. Just don't burn the house down. :hysterical:

YES, they do splater as does anything else boiling at 350F with no cover. MUST USE OUTSIDE!

Don't care for the indoor electric ones, too much that can go wrong & it's safer oitside if something does happen :extinguish:

As far as using a cover that is normally used for stews or steaming with these King Cookers.

:cold: I prefer pan cooked in a bag like Tana does....but I never cook them. I'm the "distant" one in our family, so Terry1234 and I always travel to Cincinnati...and my brother does the cooking of the bird. We get to take a casserole and wine.

P.S. My brother makes oyster stuffing...which is awesome. :happy feet:
