Install new tires & rims

Dear All,

I just bought set of rims & tires for my GT500.(Amreican Razor edition)

Are there any ways I can re-active tire pressure monitor without going into the dealer? Because I had

KB supercharger under the hood, and I don't want to find out and expire my warranties.

I've already installed tire pressure monitor sensors on them.

Pls advise me your comments.

thanks

My dealer just reprogrammed them in the service drive. They did not have to start the car or get under the hood.

Personally, I would not put the sensors in my new razors. I would just hit the reset button when I start the car. No other lights flash or stay on after that. Im always worried that I'm gonna throw off a sensor on the dyno, hard launch, or high speed run. Then the risk of unmounting the tire from the wheel and a greater risk of damaging the wheel on remount.

SENSORS SUCK

totally correct. They wont even open the hood. all they need to do is too walk around the car for about 5 minutes to reprogram the sensors. Ive done this at our store on my set of rims and tires too.

To make sure they dont look under the hood ... the tech can come out to the service drive to do this. You can stay in the car ... allow the tech to do his thing and you will be on your way in about 10 minutes.

I get mine done for free since i work here so dont know what they will charge

That's ABSURD

Why don't you name the dealer and save your fellow GT500 owners the hassle of getting ripped off by this guy....sheesh...given the stature of this car, price paid, they ought to offer to do it free!!

+1

$100 for 10 minutes of work? They don't even have to open anything, touch anything - no grease, no parts, no real labor at all.

Talk to the Service Mgr, or the GM. That's just not right.

Oh it sucks, but true as it is...

Heaven forbid...but if you ever have a major accident and the insurance company is involved, if they find out you've disabled a factory safety option, they will deny any claims and coverage.

For instance, some idiot hits you, totals your car and puts you in the hospital...both insurance companies can deny coverage. And they will poor over the car...especially the computer.
