Watch where you jack these cars!

I had the car aligned after installing the FRPP handling pack and the camber on the left wheel was off (.5 degree out of spec). Kind of surprised me because it's not made to be adjusted. When I changed my oil, I found out why. Some one jacked the car where the K member bolts onto the subframe at the rear of the engine compartment. The mounting plate on the body had deformed a little and I think this is where my alignment problems originated. The K member mounting frame is outboard of the forward subframe U channel and was an easy reach for someone. It isn't made to support the cars weight so don't lift or jack there.

I have jacked mine there :banghead:

where is a good location to jack it in the front?

I lift on the U channel brace that forms the forward subframe and is just in-board of the K member attachment point. Be careful on the drivers side because there is a plastic cover that shields the evaporative return lines etc. You don't want to lift on it.

The .pdf shows a sn95 frame so it is a little hard to figure out but it also shows lifting on the front subframe brace.

I think they show the points in the owners manual. SOmeone has posted a .pdf doc here before...maybe do a search on +jack +locations or something like that.

The owner's manual does not show the jack points. The PDF illustration, even though it implies it's for the 2007 pre-delivery, does not look like a S197 Mustang underbody.

It would be nice to have some photos that show the lift points for these cars; often a description is ambiguous to me.

Hmmm...I thought sure I saw that somewhere in my documentation....I just can't recall where.

If your jacking a GT500....use these points on page 2.

Edit: I marked the underside of my car with a paint dots so I never forget these lift points. This also allows me to show anyone who has to lift my car....where to do it.

That location is for the jack included with the GT and V6 and is the seam between the side panels and the unibody. I wouldn't use a normal floor jack or lift there.

I agree, those points are where you would place the factory scissors jack and it is described in the owner's manual. I think it would be difficult to use a floor jack to lift the car from those points.
