cobraengineer07
We all have been waiting for SAI to give us a bill of materials on the Super Snake. I have created a Bill of Material chart with what I have found out and what I believe is not defined. Let's put our information together so we will be ready when scheduling time arrives. cobraengineer07
SAI will get the ones they need 1st before they are sold to the public After Ford supplies them to all the 2008 GT500's currently on material hold I agree. Hope that is soon.

I can tell you this: your source is Wrong. This information-- or should I say misinformation-- serves no purpose except to get people here upset about nothing. While I believe that you have good intentions in trying to inform the boards here, it is just dead wrong. SAI will get the ones they need 1st before they are sold to the public Correct. While I believe that you have good intentions in trying to inform the boards here, it is just dead wrong. Correct. My source was FRPP, but I am very happy that they are incorrect. This means we will still be able to schedule Super Snakes in 2007? Also can you please look at the chart I created and provide whatever clarification you can? It would go a long way for many of us to just know what decisions have been made (and cannot be changed) and which are still worth discussing and sharing our thoughts. ColdwaterHotrod
There is NO material holds on the 2008 GT500's at this time for balancers! and per the double sided SAI Shelby GT500 Super Snake flyer I have in my hand & it shows a KB blower & plaque on it. It says & I quote.... " *NOTE: Options and availability subject to change without notice. Concept vehicle shown" and it also says... "600 Horse power - $27,995* 700+ Horse power - $31,995* (Coupe Only) *Package Pricing is subject to change at any time"

I would think most items are set. Why does this all seem like one big secret that only a few people know what is really going on. Super Snake updates and scheduling????? Why does this all seem like one big secret that only a few people know what is really going on. Super Snake updates and scheduling????? Come on throw us a real bone.......................Holidays comming soon and then it will be January no matter what's on hold or not. Like any MFR, things could change during the year. Look at the brochure of ANY auto manufacturer, they have the same disclaimer. That is no different anywhere on the globe. The sky is not falling, I promise... Stuff happens. Are there planned changes already? Not that I know of. Big secret? What big secret????? Could you clarify what the mystery is? With regards to SHELBY lettering on the nose, that is gone and not coming back. I thought this was public knowledge. It was posted here months ago... KB blower (725+HP) comes in black or polished. Ford Racing (600+ HP) will be available polished later and is available in black right now. Personally, I like the black better anyway as it goes with the stripes. Crank dampener we got. You don't like the gear whine. I suppose you don't like the sound of the Detroit Locker from the '60's either? There are no secrets here. Simply put, I am not in charge of Super Snake production, I am a fan of the car- like you- and was trying to help. It seems that you need to know what brand of screw we are using. I won't help you there. So I guess I AM keeping a secret! In fact, folks on this board know wayyy more than any mfr lets on before production, so I don't understand...this car has went from concept to nearly ready for production in 6 months and you{Cobraengineer} are not happy. Short of a magic wand, I can't understand how it can be done faster...so please lighten up and let us do our jobs. Thanks...
ColdwaterHotrod
Crispy, The mention of lettering on the hood I think came from the new SHELBY magazine that covered some items of what it comes with. Most know from being here awhile that it was clearly known that it would not be part of the package & the author must have used old info when writing that article several months ago. intguys
I was told by a few people that have done a kenn bell SC upgrade, that if you don't use a larger aftercooler/intercooler that the heat soak is tremendous and causes the motor to lose substatial power. Has SA already thought about this and will that come on the 725 version or not?
ColdwaterHotrod
Nothing has EVER been mentioned about heat soak coming from a KB while making 725 flywheel HP, nor does the KB website mention it. Do you know what size pulley they were using? Or what kind of power were they making that needed an after cooler? What were they doing with it? Drag racing it? Were they using it for Everyday driving & needed it? How about running it in the Baja 1000? The reason I ask is everytime I turn around someone wants to throw a RUMOR into the wind & all it does it piss off very hard working folks at SAI when they read this crap. They will get it right & you really need to give SAI more credit for doing their homework on R & D then what you have to ask this kind of question without researching the facts of the folks that told you this info. intguys
whoa take it easy, these are not rumors coldy. I've been around here a long time and I realize SAI will get it right. this is just a question. Just because it has ever been mentioned doesn't mean it doesn't happen! There is heat soak with the current blower why would it be unbelievable that it can't happen when you add another 225 HP? I'm sure SAI has given it attention, I was just wondering if in the additional cost of the 725 over the 600HP possibly included an aftercooler. Take it easy. Michael Morris
i have spent ALOT of time over on the Shelby forum with the SGTs guys and the same thing happened over there few times. when the guys are waiting for the SGT in the mod shop they would get upset about not getting the info and not being contacted as much as they thought they should have been. im just the guy selling the cars and didnt understand all of the frustation they were feeling. well now that i have a SS order i can understand ALOT more of there feelings, but we MUST have patience. i have been following the SS project since near the beginning and have spoken with EVERYONE (except crispy, i will get you in the next few days ) and i KNOW they are working thier butts off on the project. they are NOT going to put out a product that THEY are not happy or confortable putting on the street. im a car salesman and i have NO patience, but i also know it takes time to put something this big together. Cold i dont think he meant to start a rumor, but thought if he mentioned the problem that IF there was one SAI could look into it before production started. Folks dont let our PASSION for these GREAT cars get us bickering among each other. lets make sure to ask constrive questions and give constrive answers. if i learn anything that can help i will be sure to put it here for yall. i dont think i can learn anything faster than crispy but if i do it will go here cant wait for 08SS0014 to get home (wish my wife couldnt drive a 5 speed) michael morris
ColdwaterHotrod
simple questions are best in tense times like these...... Example: Amy, Bud or Crispy, Can any of you tell us if you have looked into adding a new heat exchanger/Intercooler to help with the possiblity of added heat soak with 725hp? Thanks & keep up the good work! Get the picture folks? Simple & polite! Try it sometime

intguys
dude I'm about to drop 32,000 I will ask how and what I want. I want to feel comfortable about my decision on weather I choose the 600hp or the 725hp. I work just as hard as they do at SAI, and when my customers have a question or a concern about something I will sell them I don't tell them they are wrong for asking a question or that they are pissing me off cause they asked me a question. Get a grip coldy!!!
ColdwaterHotrod
I got a grip on what's going on. This package will be availble for up to 3 years once production starts & if your can't wait & have to be one of these "GOT TO HAVE IT NOW" folks then so be it. I don't have a beef with you, just how your going about trying to get your answers. If you like you can PM me your ph.# & we can discuss this off line
