I have a 1968 Camaro Convertible, that is numbers matching car with the protector plate and all the rare collectible stuff that goes with it.... My kids can drive the Camaro, once the Shelby is in the garage..... :happy feet:

Like any other vehicle I own, my a$$ will be the only one in the driver's seat. There are maybe 2 other people I will let drive it, for no more than 5 minutes each. My wife isn't one of them. She can't drive a stick, and isn't learning on this one.

I let lots of friends drive the cars. I have taught several to drive a standard with the 97, on the theory it's bullittproof, and if you learn on it, anything else will be a breeze(cept maybe a 62 VW Beetle w/o syncro's) I can think of two good Service buddies that will be behind the wheel in the first week.

I was happy to learn this car only came with a stick, that eliminates one potential driver, my wife and like the previous post she will not be learning on this one, EVER. My two brothers are the only possible drivers after I break this beast in properly. My dad might get the chance after some serious coaching, his response time and reflexes are not what they use to be.

That's just it!!!

It's not who you trust to be careful enough, it's who you know that would have the skill to handle a car with this much power. It will be alot to control. But a pleasure to do it!!!

I'll let anyone drive it as long as they know how to drive a stick. It's just a car. Insurance takes care of the rest.

I let my wife drive my 600HP 347 stroked, supercharged 92. That cars weighs 3400 lbs. She'll handle this thing easily.

Only one person. The one person that has been instrumental in helping me secure the car. Without his help and connections, I doubt that I would have been able to get the Shelby, so letting him drive it is the very least I can do. And I'm not the least bit concerned that he might damage it either, because he is an accomplished driver and owner of several rare high performance cars including a Ford GT and a McLaren so I know he can handle the 500. :shift:

Take pics of you next to his F1, otherwise I call BULLSHIT

I can understand your skepticism. Fair enough. I will snap a shot of me, his F1, his GT and his Porsche GT for you. I will do this on Saturday. Please check for posts after Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Most sincerely,

SOGT

Can I specifically request pics of the Porsche GT? I don't doubt you one bit, but that car has been the end-all-be-all for me for quite a while. :)

I'd also like to request pics of the Marauder. I've always found them to be sexy. :)

My thoughts exactly. Most of my friends know how to handle a bit of horsepower and they know I'll kill them if they disrespect the car! :rip:

Needless to say, wifey drives an Automatic Volvo!

("oh, I've driven straight drives before - my daddy had a F-150")

Okay, dear. :bandance:

Hey! There ain't nothin' wrong with a Volvo. My S80/T6 has humbled many a kid in their rice grinders! All in the lap o' luxury.

My wife will drive it whenever she wants, because if it weren't for her patience and being somewhat of a carnut herself, I wouldn't have the cars I've got. She drives the 67 on occasion, but I think the '07 will be much more refined and easier to drive. I'll let our daughters drive it when I'm with them, but not by themselves. They both have mildly modified Fox Body GT's, and they have done fine in them. The older one (nineteen) has done a bit of autocrossing, so she has somewhat of a clue how to drive a car, but she's never driven anything with anywhere near this kind of power.

My wife will drive it when she wants, although she really has not expressed much interest. I think after she tries it out I may have to pry her away from it so I can drive it periodically. Her only experience with a manual is with her pinto when she was in college, so I imagine that this will be a lot different and easier for her. I also intend to teach my two sons (21 and 17) how to drive a stick shift with the shelby. With this much torque and the way the clutch as been described, this is probably an ideal teaching car. I am not sure I really trust them and their skill levels to drive out of our rural neighborhood without me with them. That would be a pretty good leap of faith.
