I ordered mine on 8/27/2007, and have not heard squat as of yet! Was hoping to have it before my car arrives, it's starting to look like my car will win the race! LOL I think my next mod will be the "F :censored: g Fast six speed gear knob the MGW sells! I always received fast service from MGW in the past.

I ordered mine yesterday, but may have some god news. My 427 S/C is at SAI right now, and I called to check on it yesterday also. I asked the guy taking care of it to have THE MAN sign my Cobra while it's there, he said no problem (he also said no charge to sign that particular car!?). He didn't know when Carroll would be in next, but anticipated that it would be soon as SEMA is coming up and he normally comes in before SEMA.

So, he may be signing all of our plaques shortly, and hopefully my Cobra too, especially since they will be finished with it within three weeks.

I think I have you all beat

I ordered mine June 28th

Call back August 21st to find out they lost my order (forwarded my original email order) :banghead:

Now it's been 9 weeks and still nothing

I am a patient man but the Shelby took a lot less time to build than a *$%# dash plaque

:rant::rant::rant:

I waiting for a response today :sos::sos:

I don't think you beat me. I ordered mine back in about April, got one, it had the incorrect VIN, and I just got the "corrected" one last week...although it's not mounted yet. Waiting on some fishing line. :waiting:

Damn, you got it and then taken away....... :censored:

Whats with the fishing line? :censored:

Dave mounted his incorrect one already, so he needs to pull that one off (without messing up the dash piece) then reapply the corrected one.

Or maybe it was just because he wanted to go fishing. I could be wrong about that though.

Yes, you can order on the SAI site. I called because I just wanted a little more personal touch and to make sure they got my Vin#right. I talked to a guy named Keith. He put the order in the computer as we spoke. " Very nice guy " Phone # 702-405-3500 if you choose to go this route.

I ordered mine yesterday and still no reply but I did get an automated receipt with no conf. # or del date. There was also no set place to add the vin # other than in the added comments section, so thats where she went.

I think I will phone next week for a verbal conf.

I am sure my car will beat it here as it was loaded on a railcar today ,,,,weeeee haaaa!!!!

Maybe Carroll will do a whole bunch pretty quick before SEMA.

OH well we are very used to WAITING!!! for just about everything except taxes.

Wow! It came today. It looked great in the pics. everyone has posted with it mounted, but I gotta tell you, it even looks better live and in hand!!! The quality is awesome and only 5 weeks from order date to delivery. "Right on time" Hope everyone else gets theirs in a reasonable time. I was expecting 8-12 weeks. " Under commit and over perform " I like it.

  • 4 weeks later...
You said "planned". :hysterical2:

Well....after about 2 months or more waiting, I finally got word that our friends at Shelby Parts are shipping my dash plaque and sill plates. :happy feet: :happy feet:

Should be here early next week !! I bet it will be worth the wait.

How easy are the original sill plates to remove ? What is the best way to take the originals off without damage ? Also, how do the new ones attach ? Any thought would be appreciated

Thanks,

ItalianStallion

Me too Andy!! Mr. Shelby must have signed ours at the same time!

I can't wait... this will be the best visual mod I have and the one with the most meaning to me.

And your question about the sill plate - I think Grabber (I know, image that - Grabber making a post about a mod he did! :hysterical: ) and AlloyDave have posts on this.

Let me know when yours comes in. Are you going to try to spray it to protect it from fading?

Yea Joe.....thats cool; they were probably signed about the same time.

Its make for a great visual mod...gotta have one.

I'm concerned that spraying something on the plaque might cause the signature to run/fade.

What do you think ?

Since I have the Red Appearance Package, I am going to have the machined "SHELBY" lettering sprayed Red, as close as possible I can get to the Red Interior Accents. That might look attractive.

I'm swaying back and forth. One member did it (I think with the wrong product) and it did smear the signature. SAI is making him a new one, but a few others have done it (with the correct product) making sure to do it with many light coats and it's worked fine.

I hate to ruin it with the spray. But I'd kick myself if it faded because I left the vert top down and the sun killed the signature.

Decisions decisions... :banghead:

Sounds interesting. Post pics when you're done.

I ordered my second one back in August. It must be on the way, because my CC was charged $299.95plus tax yesterday. I plan to use the second one in a framed piece with window sticker and SVT certifact along with a nice picture of the car. By the way, the price on the Dash Plaque/Sill Plate set is $324.95plus tax. Just noticed it today in the SPP catalog.

I too received a e-mail that my Dash Plate is on the way, guessing that all of ours were signed at the same time!!! Have you figured out what spray too use? Let me know as I too wish to protect the signature. Not sure if I'm going to install the sill plates. Have not had to put her away for the winter yet, but the time is coming :banghead:

It's a Krylon product... there are 2 that people have used. One is right, one wrong. The correct one protects from UV. Do a search... I'll try to find it too.
