Finally got a build date, week of August 7th.

I changed the color to Alloy and put the spoiler back on, since most aftermarket spoilers mount into the existing holes.

Chris - welcome aboard!

I've kept my spoiler off - can always add one later.

And I didn't go as heavy with the options. No heated or power seats - but the dashboard woven deal.

I stuck with the standard rims as I've got 19's inbound.

I like Alloy - hardest part was choosing colors. My first Mustang was black - so my "one for the thumb" will also be black. (Zaino polish arrived today! And a clay bar!)

Sore topic.

I asked them today - still no build date.

All these parts are here - no car.

They've got a black coupe on the ground, but it has cloth, the Shaker 1000, and the $900 polished rims - and a spoiler. I need to remain patient and get the one I want.

Congrats on your's though.

Same here. Order placed on Jun 5th, no date.

My father in law had an interesting take. He said it may be because they have to produce X number of v6's before they can produce v8's to stay in line with environmental regulations.

Whether or not that's the case, to have 8 people (at my dealer) on a waiting list for manual GT's that are pretty much ALREADY SOLD and not building those orders is not a way to keep customers.

The Mustang enthusiasts will wait around for a time, sure, but after 8 weeks the normal guy will just cancel the order and go buy something else. Discouraging, to say the least.

I figure if my order goes in next week (doubtful), I wouldn't have the car till probably October. It's not being driven past November, so right now I'm hoping I just get it before they start salting the roads so I can drive it 2 miles from the dealer to my garage for the next 6 months.

Patience rpenna... I ordered mine April 12th and even though it was built on June 5th it took until July 11th for the dealer to finally get it after sitting in Quality Control for so long. I also ordered it with Dove and didn't even know what it was going to look like. I was pretty much freakin out.

But it is now everything I was hoping for and then some. Don't settle. You'll just be like everybody else.

If you're anything like me, just wait and you'll end up with your dream car.

Motor Trend says only 3-5 percent of Mustangs are custom ordered. When you think about it that way it's no wonder there are so many holdups... we are basically a select few who are strewn about the mix, and our cars will most likely be a different variation of options and colors than would any dealer's, who just wants a car that is as attractive to as many people as possible... or plain jane.

You need to find a dealer with a high allocation. All Ford dealers are not created equal. Find the dealer with the highest volume Mustang sales you're willing to go to to get your car and order through them.

I know that only 2 dealers in a 60 mile radius of me have even received any 07's. I don't believe any shelby's have made it yet.

Where abouts? In San Diego every dealer has at least 4 or 5 GT's. They aren't ordering them loaded at all though which is why I special ordered mine.

I ordered my 07 GT on June 10th. My salesman called a few weeks ago to tell me that the 5-speed GT's were back ordered and that mine hadn't been scheduled yet. I was at Summit Racing yesterday for the Mustang show and I was walking around drooling over all the cars and mods that others had done and wishing I had mine. Then.......I got a call from the dealer telling me that I will have mine in about 4 weeks!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!
