Based on all the talk about Ebay auctions and dealer pricing, I thought it might be interesting to see some hard data.

You don't have to comment if you don't wish to - just vote and let's watch the results as they come in. :shift:

I never knew how fortunate I was to be paying MSRP until I hung around here!

Thanks, B -

You're going to go the KB route?

What does that mean?

To those of you who are paying above MSRP - don't think we're judging you.

You have the means to buy what we all want - the SVT 2007 Mustang. :cheerleader:

On the street, you'll serve notice that the Mustang is alive and well. :shift:

I hope everyone finds a deal on a SVT Cobra/Shelby 2007.

I couldnt trust that the ford dealers are actually ganna get one of these cars in stock. As much as me and my dad want one were going the kb route, never the less if we can get our hands on a gt500 we wont take long to think about buying it!

You do realize that flatus means FART don't you?

I should of just said kenne bell supercharger instead of kb, but point being yeah were probably just ganna get a kenne bell that puts 450hp at the rear wheels and 523 at the flywheel at 8 psi. And I hear that the gt500 are makeing around 450 to the rear wheels, but dont quote me on that lol! You probably know more about that than me. And to 5.4 shelby, yes I know that. I just took the name from the guitarest of gwar.

This is good data for a limited group - maybe less than 1% of the actual buyers. I suspect it may show that we're better informed and have either gotten prices, on average, the market may not produce on its own for some time, or we have a number of folks choosing to wait for the market correction to get the lower prices on average.

This is a good time to plug some of the real helpful folks on the board, like Five Oh B, who daily add to our knowledge. Unfortunately they sometimes tell us things we don't want to hear. But knowledge of any kind is power, especially when compared to some of the other crap you hear on some sites where people think it's information if they shout loud enough and often enough about it. Thanks guys, including a couple who have provided information to me directly they don't want public, but which has personally been helpful - you know who you are and thanks!

For the record: considerably below MSRP due to PowerLease (I used my own.)

Good idea here, keeps our mind off of when we will get our vehicle. Gee that could be the next post. :happy feet:

I'm getting below MSRP only because of my unique situation. The dealership will get $10K over. Didn't know how to vote, so I checked below MSRP, but there are at least 2 in the area that are already sold for 10K over. Adjust accordingly if you need to.

Edit:

By the way, I wonder how representative this poll will be. Seems that lots of us have done a bunch of research and received help in the form of advice. Those who buy and are not members of the forum will probably pay whatever the daeler wants, especially in light of the CNN article the other day.

This is a very informal poll. I'm not going to publish a paper on it!

I do think, though, that's it's interesting.

Would it be appropriate to list the Ford Store that's selling you your Mustang at - or below - MSRP?

Perhaps they deserve some p/r?

This car is the first car I can think of wherein I would pay a little above MSRP to own, by the way!

As I drive around now, I spot cars I'd love to pull up alongside if I had the GT now! :shift:

Another interesting point - 358 views of this thread and only 20 posts. ??

I'll tell you that Drew Ford in San Diego is selling theirs at MSRP PERIOD. Company policy, NO VEHICLE can EVER be sold for more. They even sold their early arrival Ford GT's 50$ UNDER MSRP to make a point, when every other dealer was charging 100k OVER.

someone just bid 30,000 over msrp on ebay, it's crazy!!!!

$30,000 to be first, to each his own. The car will be worth $35k less the day he drives it home.

Wow, $50K under MSRP? That represents a loss of about $35K. That's quite a statement to make!

I am honsetly surprised that so many people have been able to get theirs at MSRP, but I thinks it's great. I wonder how many of those dealers that agreed to MSRP did so before all the hysteria surrounding the car became so apparent. It's cool that they stuck to what they told their customers because as we have seen, quite a few dealers reneged. I would bet that some of those dealers that agreed to MSRP are kicking themselves now, but hindsight is 20/20.

I made my MSRP deal early, but my dealer wasn't even going to order his Shelby, even to sell to another dealer. He also knows he now has a loyal customer who is going to buy several more new vehicles within the next three years. He's not kicking himself because he's very happy to have my business, which previously belonged elsewhere for over 20 years! There are still some dealers who understand mutual loyalty.
