jsalbre Posted October 11, 2007 Report Share Posted October 11, 2007 Looking on Ford's site tonight I noticed on the options page it says this: Shaker 500 Audio System with AM/FM stereo, 6-CD changer, MP3 capability, 6 speakers in GT, 8 speakers in Shelby GT500) Didn't the Shaker 500 come with 8 speakers in the GT '05-07? BigEnos Posted October 19, 2007 Report Share Posted October 19, 2007 There's definitely 6 speaker locations, but the upper door speakers and rear deck speakers are most likely coaxial. Not sure if that means that they qualify as extra speakers or not. What I find odd is that the rear deck speakers in the Shaker500 are just under carpet, but in the Shaker1000 there's plastic grilles there. One 1 inch tweeter in each door One 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 - inch midrange speaker in each door One 8 inch subwoofer in each door Two full-range speakers in back Two subwoofer amplifiers in the instrument panel That is 8 speakers + two amplifiers for the Shaker 500 The Shaker 1000 has 10 speakers One 1 inch tweeter in each door One 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 - inch midrange speaker in each door One 8 inch subwoofer in each door Two full-range speakers in back Two 10 inch subwoofers in the trunk Two subwoofer amplifiers mounted in the instrument panel Four subwoofer amplifiers mounted in the trunk panel It doesn't matter if you order a V6, GT or GT500. I guess until they put me in charge that will never happen! And just think, they wouldn't have to pay me over $30 million either! I work cheap! Half that would enough for me!
