RUFDRAFT
Tonight, wifey and I are downtown on the riverfront for our monthly "Music in the Streets" deal - and a local hot rods/classics car club has about 30 cars on display. I saunter up to a 1970 very clean Mach 1 and start talking to the owner. I tell him what I've ordered and ask can I join the club. Within 10 minutes, there are probably 15 guys around me asking about the GT500. Yikes. Apparently, the word is getting out. Oh, and they want me to join! :happy feet: Anyone else have any comments from colleagues or friends about the upcoming purchase? (I saw a city cop who used to be my student and told him what I was getting - he laughed and said, "I ain't chasing you in that thing!)
Fastbackman
Everyone can't wait for me to get it. They all want a ride or they want to drive it. I think my dad's more excited for me than I am. I'm gonna get him his own set of keys and the code to get in the garage though. That's probably why he can't wait.
RUFDRAFT
Damn. I knew I should have had sons - not daughters. x Good form, man. Give dad some.
JETSOLVER
I have let my friends drive my car since day well not one exactly but early on because this hobby is no fun by yourself. And even taught a couple to drive stick in it! They are all pretty happy for me and know that summer cruising in the new one will be at least as good as with VENOMIS. Plus a few friends now have thier start in the community of car people and are passing it on. Wish my father was around to share it though... he taught me how to be a gearhead. 07 Shelby Cobra
I probably get asked about it 5 times a day from various co-workers.
RUFDRAFT
I just got off the phone with one of my nephews in Rochester, Mn. This lad is a muscle car fanatic. His dad had some Mopars back in the '60s. When I told him what I'm buying - he didn't believe me! (then let forth with a string of expletives) Then he tells me he's going to use up some frequent flyer miles and come visit "me" - IF - he can get some seat time! I told him I'd think about it. :happy feet:
SVTpower
I mention getting this car at local events and shows and I seem to get blasted from guys with '03-'04 Cobra's and stage III Roush's saying that the car won't be worth it and complaining about stuff about the car. I'm afraid the GT500's will be lonely in my area, the jealousy factor is rediculus around here. These guys have dumped all their money into a car that is going to be superceded by the GT500 and they are offended. If I paid $60000 for a Roush maybe I would be a little upset but no reason to banish other Mustangs. I guess I'll go hang out with the SVT Focus group. Both of those above mentioned groups know you have the better car, and for hopefully less money than the Roush..............5.4>4.
