Ok ok, I know... I'm late. :redcard:

Hopefully this will make up for the lateness!

To start, I documented the trip to NC to pick up the car before the drive home to MN.

First is the flight to Greenville, NC, where I was picked up by Bryan (Rufdraft).

Yikes, not quite the plane I was planning on! Does it use a rubberband to run the engines?? :hysterical2:

Had dinner with Snoop & co-pilot (I think they already posted pics of this portion of the trip :hysterical: ), then it was time to hit the highway!

Didn't leave until about 4pm.

After driving most of the night, pulled into Goat Country and met up with AlloyDave! :happy feet:

Pictures in front of Dave's place of employment.

Bug/tar remover

Wash again

Clay bar

Wax with ICE

Clean the wheels (man there was a bunch of brake dust!! :soapbox: )

THEN ENJOY THE RESULTS AND CRUISE WITH THE FAMILY WITH THE TOP DOWN!!

Thanks again to Ruf for helping me find this great deal!

Thanks to Bill and Donia for spending the day with me and making the trip memorable!

Thanks to ShelbyDude for all his help answering all my stupid questions and trying to find a car for me!

Thanks to AlloyDave for your hospitality, the great Mexican lunch, the tour of the museum, diet lemonaid, the Colts game, and the tour of your awesome workshop!

And thanks to everyone here who's been part of the journey. You're all like family.

I'm glad you were able to finally get your car, Joe. And at a better price than you were holding out for to boot! :happy feet:

:happy feet:

Sometimes you hit the jackpot!

diet lemonaid?

WTF is that? :hysterical2::hysterical2::hysterical2:

I think it was AlloyDave's hint that I should maybe lose a few pounds. :hysterical2:

WOW nice pics Joe, your cars finish looks like glass. :happy feet:

Thanks.

Even though you think you don't/won't need to... make sure to clay bar your car after you get it (or 30 days later to make sure the paint is fully cured). There IS micro contaminants that the clay bar will take off. THEN you'll have a great surface to put the wax on.

Then I used the ICE wax. Easiest wax job I've EVER used. Grabber says that it gets even better the more coats you put on! I think I'll add another this weekend.

I read about your first Mod...the dash plaque.

What's next ?

Not sure... stay tuned.

Wifey asked me to hold off on the Stage 1 for a bit :spend: (actually, that wasn't quite the way she said it ... ) - YIKES!

Will probably be more small scale... here's what's on my list:

- shorter antenna (is reception still ok with a 12-14" version?)

- cobra lighter plug

- billet strut nuts (where's the best place to get??)

- Cobra floor mats (like you have Grabby)

- Hood struts (where's the best place to get??)

Next gen mods:

- sequential taillights

- exhaust
