Grabber Orange SS Pix

I lurk here often, (own a few Stangs) and thought I'd post up these pix. I HOPE THESE HAVEN'T ALREADY BEEN POSTED!!

I just came back from Vegas yesterday and snapped a bunch of photos of the Shelby Museum. It was really nice of them to open the Super Snake up for me to take pix, (I didn't get the info on whether it was the 600 or 725) but the car was beautiful. I'm envious of those of you getting the SS upgrade!!

Some info:

Even though all of the '08 Shelby GTs are gonna be Vista Blue, there's a dealership in California that's getting 200 Grabber Orange GTs. They wouldn't let us take pix of the cars being built, but I can tell you that I saw the G.O.'s being worked on first hand.

For those of you getting your car built there, take the $500 optional factory pick-up tour!!

BTW: If the pix are small, I can try to e-mail larger pix for those that might want them. :)

Nice, thanks!!!! Looks great!! I saw the red in person at Tasca and it was the convincing factor in my deposit on the SS. Can't wait!!!

Great pics, thanks! Question though: where is the SHELBY badging on the back? Hopefully they haven't removed that from the package.

Another question: are the new gauges hooked up to the same lighting system as the dash? In other words, do they change colors like the other gauges? Just wondering as I am color blind and I can't see the guages when they are red.

I like the color though.

That car is prototype #2. Prototype #1 is the red one. When I saw the GO SS, THAT convinced me that GO is the way to go.

BTW, I spoke with someone who drove it, and they said it was "very easy" to drive like a 'regular' GT500. In bright light, it has more of a yellow hue (as you can see by the photo). Towards dusk, it looks very orange. Very cool. :drop:

Bill: I personally think that Vista Blue with the matte stripes will look FANTASTIC!!

Joker45: The girl that toured us around said that the $500 tour was for those that ordered their Shelby and wanted to pick it up at the factory. They detail the car, put it in front, (photo op) and give you a detailed tour BEHIND the roped off area that we couldn't go on the regular tour. There's probably more to it than that as well, but I didn't catch everything she said due to a noisy kid.

I'm happy all of you enjoyed the pix. I was afraid that I'd get the "repost" banner as I was merely lucky enough to be in Vegas on the day that they brought the car outside.

I honestly thought the pix would'be made their journey 'round the net already. :)

Is #2 the most recent version? I prefer the lights not blacked out, less pimp my ride. Also, the rear side windows are not covered, which I also think looks better. Now if they could just get rid of the cables on the hood... :headspin:

The GO in these photos doesn't have smoked lenses. And didn't Amy say that the SS had hood pins with cables because the original did? The photos I have seen of the original doesn't have cables. Maybe the current owner took them off?

1967 GT500 Super Snake

This is a prototype (#2). When it comes down to actual production, I wonder if the smoked lenses are street legal in 50 states?

Great pics! Thanks. I personally think that this is the best color combo for the SuperSnake. Reminds me of these old Boss 302s.

You should see it in person. Either one looks HOT (Red or Orange). I have seen them both- the Red in Tulsa, and the Orange in Las Vegas, and they both look stunning! :headspin:

None of the tinted lights, (head lamp, directionals or tail lamps), are legal in Wisconsin. Also a front license plate is needed.
