Keith Lambert
I wanted to report it here first, but my car is NOT FOR SALE at the Copart Auction in Cartersville, GA. https://www.copart.com/lot/68248014/2007-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-ga-cartersville Had an accident on Saturday, 17 Aug, no injuries, and I drove the car 20 miles home. Runs and operates normally. Reported to insurance, started claim process. Their system immediately flagged my car as "Possible total loss". Naturally I am confused, but this seems to be the insurance process these days. They wanted the car to go to Copart, who would then send detailed pics and video for their adjusters assessment. I told them no matter what I wanted a second opinion of any damage assessment or repair estimate. It was picked up on Tuesday morning. Insurance hasn't gotten back to me as of today. I called Copart about the assessment process and they stated "we are waiting on the original title." Sounds like insurance has potentially given indication of a total loss. Looks like I'll be battling with them on this. I'll be on the phone first thing tomorrow morning. I've got a ton of pictures which I have shared with 3 different collision repair shops. All have said "Not totaled." More to come! Keith Lambert

Was contacted by insurance inspector/estimator who actually working behind the scenes sourcing parts and working the repair. The adjuster wasnt communicating with the inspector and thus the confusion. Inspector is a car lover themselves and we had a great conversation. Said they understood my situation and would commit to getting me repaired as soon as possible. Whew! what a week. Can source all the parts so far, except for OEM hood. Anybody got any leads?
