STARTING TO HATE FORD NOW

Recommended Posts

On an earlier topic I posted I hated my dealership and now how I see, that they have scewed me.

I have been in seach of my GT500 at MSRP and I found a dealer in rual south Georgia that agreed to sell me theres at MSRP. however it is a very small dealer but as we all know they will get one. But they didn't know anything about the GT500 untill I contacted them.

Well the FORD REP. was in there this week and so they got the information they needed on the car to order it. The FORD REP. told them that they was selling around Atlanta for 10k to 20k over MSRP.

Needless to say the Dealer that I contacted and knew nothing of the car called me back and told me he would need at least 10k over MSRP. iI thought Ford wanted this car sold below 50K. BURNED AGAIN!

THIS CAR HAS MADE ALL OF THE BLOOD SUCKERS COME OUT OF THE WOOD WORKS!  :rant:

The Ford Rep for our area told my dealer also that they were selling the GT500's too cheap, but they are sticking with what they told their customers - $5000 over MSRP. I ordered ours this week -

Now THIS is what should get back to Ford Corporate HQ and Bill Jr. Ford can't legally tell it's dealers what to charge, but it CAN and SHOULD tell it's dealer reps to shut the f :censored: ck up and stop f :censored: cking with it's customers!!

THIS is total BS and should cost some people their jobs. Come on Ford, there is NO reason to do this to us. Dealers were happy making a customer happy and felt they were making a reasonable profit - why tell them to jack the prices up??

And THIS is an example of a dealer who keeps his word!

I'm sure cars will sale but I would like to see something done about this price hopping. Some sitting on lots for awhile will suddenly change all that talk about it being sold to low. Ford supposedly doesn't set prices but now they intervene to get prices where they think they should be. Its dumb set your price and stick with it.

I'll decide whether its worth that to me or not and move on if I think its not. Its a nice car but its not worth all the BS that folks are dealing with just to have a chance at one. Dealers and Ford seem to forget why the built the car to start with. I thought it was built to bolster sales in the line and give the folks what they have been asking for for a long time. Who knows maybe things will get better later on.

What's wrong with telling a dealer what the market for this car is when he asks? Nothing illegal about that guys. Chances are that dealer will only get one.

What's wrong with it is that on the public front, Ford tells us they are discouraging this amongst dealers and behind closed doors they tell a different story to the dealers. No matter what Ford claims about discouraging the practice, I have felt that the Ford reps are the worst about adding fuel to the ADM fire. They want this car selling at rediculous prices because it creates hype and publicity for Ford.

The biggest problem I have with it is I had made the deal and then the Rep. Comes in a pee's on my wheaties.

Who is he to tell a dealer to charge me more when SVT and Ford has worked there ass off to get this car to us under $50k. No one else has ever done that with a car 500plus hp. you know they put alot of time and effort into this one.

Yes I understand that not all dealers are all over the GT500 hype and may not know what they are selling for on the market at large. But Ford put the car in a price range now its like oh wait I need you to mark it up X amount to be where everyone else is. If my dealer says its X amount plus MSRP thats no problem. They have had time to check out where everything is price wise. They have been noncommital on the price from the first time I asked about where it may fall they are waiting to see what they can get which is fine, Its their business how they decide on prices but I expect them to stick to what price they set. And it appears some folks are doing just that which is nice to see.

On the other side:

A close friend at the dealership where I ordered my GT500 called me today. He said a guy walked in and offered the sales manager and the top 2 spots in line $30,000 over MSRP for a GT500. The Sales MGR laughs and says "How long do you think we would last if we did business like that?".

It's nice to know that SOME dealers still know what honesty and integrity mean.

Did you have it in writing? If so then seems you have a case against them, but if like many on here you got the good ol handshake from that salesman who would never screw you, then oh well.

Wow. This went from performance bargain to dealer rip-off in under 4 seconds. Yeah, I was first in line at a dealer before they turned on me. So when I went to pick out my new F150 FX4, I went elsewhere. Oh, yeah, it's generating press for Ford allright, just not the kind of press any mfr should desire. After that, I decided to wait till next year. I won't be porked, period. And I'll never buy from that dealer again. There are good dealers, just that {it appears} that most of them have evaporated under the glare of Shelby's headlights....

You took the words right out of our mouth...only we were 2nd in line before they turned on us...bumped us down to third in line because the sales manager that was our "good friend" decided he wanted to order one, and then called with the "25K over MSRP" BS. Yeah, like the two sales managers will have to pay 25K over MSRP...give me a break. How stupid do they think we are? And after buying several new Mustangs and Superduties from them, we'll not deal with them again when we get ready to get another new one. Sorry about their luck, eh?
