The new GT500...MY ultimate car

I've always loved vintage mustangs. From early on when I was young and my grandfather, who worked at Ford would drive to my house with his latest mustang, through buying my first car...a then six year old 1968 mustang, they have always been my favorite automobile.

I've had my share of rare and beautiful mustangs, a 69 Shelby GT500, a 67 GT500, a couple of 68 1/2 R-code fastbacks, a 65 fastback, 67 390 GT fastback, 91 5.0 GT I bought new and many many others, I have always loved them.

That being said, my new '07 GT500 takes my breath away. I have never felt anything like this before with any other car I've owned. To me, it's the most visually appealing, beautiful car I could have ever imagined. I find myself going into the garage just to look at it. I just wanted to thank everyone responsible for this car being produced. I doubt anyone from Ford reads this forum but I know Amy does and even though I'm not sure just how much input Carroll and company had with the production and design of it I want to say, well done.

I guarantee you people from Ford read this column...they told us so last week. Many on here agree with your assessment...glad you're enjoying it.

I AGREE TOTALLY!!!!

I currently and have for sale 1969 GT500 and a 1967 GT500 ( currently in Hemmings online).

I have the new Grabber Orange 500 with a few upgrades/ JLT stage 1/ 20 " Razors which make a WORLD of difference in appearance.

I too feel the huge difference in performance and excitement when driving the new Shelby.

I know I can burn rubber in 2nd gear with the AC on and the Shaker 1000 blasting my favorite Van Halen tune! Oh and I have a warranty....Yeeeeha Billy Phx

Nice post!

I also feel the same way. The GT500 is awesome to look at - opening the garage just to look at it is a lot of fun!

Billy Ray, What's that thing glued onto your window louver? Is it a cobra emblem?

Beautiful color combo by the way (GO w/tungsten is my favorite color, although I went w/white/blue just cuz I'm afraid of being too flashy!)

Billy Ray your new wheels look great, what tires did you go with, sizes?

I was at a Big Boys Expo here in Phx 3 wks ago. There was a CS Shelby club there and on the Shelby was 20" Gunmetal Razors with BF Goodrich 275/35/ZR20 ( all four)

These tires look great on the car and it was nice seeing the combo in person before I made the purchase.
