I'm proud owner #214, having bought mine a day after it arrived on the lot at Koons Ford, Sterling, VA. I will NOT vacuum-seal it in the garage ... I will drive it to work daily, test'n'tune it...maybe race it at the dragstrip...and go muddin'. Looking for where the other 499 owners are and what they're doing with theirs. I can't find a single Google hit or YouTube video of this truck living life outside of a scripted commercial. Also, no Facebook groups dedicated to it exist (until now... look up my "F-150 Shelby" group). Hope the other elite owners find this group. I've not changed a thing on this truck and it has taken home something in 5 of 7 fashion shows. Lookin' forward to taking it to the racetrack this weekend to put "0 to 60 in 4.5" to the test in multiple configurations. Suggestions welcome. --Rooster

Broke the front splitter on my SS awhile back. Ordered a new one and had a friend replace it while I was overseas. He saved the broken one and I just pulled it out. I'm not a CF expert, a glass man, or even a body guy (though I owned a Ducati and an account for CF is almost required to ride one!), but It looks like fiberglass with just some CF tape or covering on the exposed part of it. Which begs the question is ANYTHING on the package actual Carbon Fiber??? I was already pissed before getting the upgrade that the MOST ridiculous non-stressed, no reason for weight reduction (mirror covers??!!), sacrificial (splitters) parts were CF while the most obvious choices, the hood and trunk lid were not. Any observations?

I've had my take off parts from Supersnaking my 09 GT500 in storage for several years. What seems to be the best way to sell? For awhile they seemed to have little value but I haven't seen anything lately. Looking to make storage space, so more interested in moving it all.

So after some great track time in 2015, it seems I warped one of my front rotors on my '13 SS. I have the 14" Wilwood rotors on the front, using the BP-20 compound brake pads. I spoke with Wilwood sales rep and he told me the rotors that SAI put on my SS have been discontinued because people are going away from the zinc coated rotors. He gave me the part number for a replaceable rotor. Here are the new part numbers he gave me: Old front: 160-8396 and 160-8397 New front: 160-8398 and 160-8399 Old rear: 160-8400 and 160-8401 New rear: 160-8403 and 160-8403 The new rotors have a more pure type of iron and carbon, and are only slotted NOT drilled. Sales rep says they will build up more heat than the old parts, and will wear out the BP-20 pads more often, but is a better product and will last longer, less likely to warp than the slotted/drilled rotors. I ordered a set of the new front rotors from Summit Racing, cost of $264 each and some new pads, $100 for the front set. I will update the thread once I get them installed and tested out.

First Road Course After Ss Upgrade
real_supersnake posted a topic in GT500 Super Snake (2013 - 2014)
Got my '13 SS out on the track for the first time this weekend. The track was at Raceway Park of the Midlands, just south of Omaha, NE. There was a 75% chance of rain throughout the day, so I decided to make the drive up from Kansas City, and drive the course on Michelin Pilot AS3, all season tires. I absolutely love these tires for all the open road driving I do (37K miles so far). I have had them on the track before and they do the job, but are not the ideal choice of course. I figured I would be ok, since I knew I was going to take it easy and just learn this course and learn the car, not trying to break any records. I have put about 6K miles on the car after the upgrade, and the power this thing puts out still amazes me today. As you can see from the video I made, you absolutely have to respect the power the car produces when you are enjoying it. Now that the weather is warm and dry, I have put the MPSS back on. https://youtu.be/d9b9NPNkkLs- 17 replies

Wounded Warriors Family Support SuperSnake Last year Renee and I met Dan McCabe who was driving the Wounded Warriors Family Project and High Five Tour Shelby SuperSnake. Dan is again involved with this charity. Below is a copy of an email we received from him. Hi, I will be on another road trip, this time for 10 days. Again this year, I am a volunteer driver for Wounded Warrior Family Support and the High Five Tour. This time I fly to Las Vegas and drive to San Diego, LA, Phoenix, El Paso TX, San Antonio, and finish up in Dallas. You can watch me on www.highfivetour.com and the High Five Tour on Face Book. We are raising money to build Smart Homes for some severely injured solders. I know that we will be at Jelly Belly on July 26th. Not sure of all the places will be in our area that week. Right now I am in San Diego Thank You for your support Dan I’m just posting this in case anyone is interested and would like to see the Wounded Warriors Family Support SuperSnake.
