  4. UPDATE: GT350 Wheels are SOLD OUT. Shelby Performance Parts’ “Orphan Wheel Program”! We have a small remaining stock on extra, unique, or cosmetically less-than perfect Shelby Super Snake Alcoa (2007-2012) wheels, and they are now being offered for sale, ONLY TO REGISTERED OWNERS OF THOSE SPECIFIC VEHICLES (must be in Shelby Registry). IMPORTANT: STOCK OF "NEW" WHEELS FOR OWNER DAMAGE CLAIMS IS DANGEROUSLY LOW, AND CANNOT BE REPLACED. IF YOU HAVE A SUPER SNAKE, THIS IS VIRTUALLY THE LAST CHANCE TO GET A SPARE OR REPLACEMENT. They have been hand-inspected and graded, according to the following standards: Grade A: An unused or lightly used “demo” wheel that shows no face blemishes. These are sold at 10% discount. Grade B: Lightly used, or containing very small face imperfections indistinguishable from 5 feet away. These are sold at 15% discount. Grade C: Used, or containing a cosmetic face defect, damage, or finish discoloration visible from 5-10 feet away. These are sold at 20% discount. Grade D: Visible face damage, finish discoloration, or imperfections. These are sold at 25% discount. Grade F: Non-functional, unbalanceable, or showing serious defects… suitable for décor, hose reel, or trunk ballast during snowstorms. These are sold at 50% discount. Grades A and B are suitable for powder coating. Grades C and D are ideal candidates for use as a full-size spare, or to mount racing tires or slicks. Super Snake wheels are available in front or rear sizing. Center caps are NOT included, but are available separately. Orders must be phoned in to Tim Hill, (702) 405-3500 X149. Wheels are sold individually. Not all types available in all grades. Shipping and any applicable taxes are an additional charge. No other discounts may be applied to this offer. Quantities are EXTREMELY limited, offered on a “first come, first served” basis - your desired wheel and/or grade is subject to prior sale.
  5. I am waiting for my Super Snake to be built. I was told SA should start on it at the end of November and should be completed mid December. I ordered the 750hp package, Carbon Fiber mirror caps, vinyl center striping and my donor car is a Racing Red GT Premium. I have saved some more money and would like to know if there is any good adds that I could add to my Super Snake that would increase the value and be cool? Is there a complete list that can be added to the Super Snake? Thanks, Brad Waiting patiently for my Snake. Ordered back in May.
  6. Looking for custom car cover for 2007 super snake with 427 nascar package. Any ideas?
  7. Can someone help me with the full piece carbon fiber radiator cover for the 2007 Super Snake? I tried one from LMR and it is hitting on the driver side close to the headlight. Are the GT500 and Supersnake hoods made differently on the underside? I believe Bangastang made one but they are no longer in business. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi All, I know Shelby announced they are building 500 super snakes. Any idea on the production numbers and costs for the wide body? or some of the detailed specs for it? thanks
  9. I am trying to find out how to tell the difference between the 2013 and 2014 Super Snakes and non-Super Snakes since I am in the market for one. Basically, I am trying to find a Super Snake w/the standard 850HP package, and I am not sure how to tell the difference between them and a normal 13'/14' Shelby when I view them at dealers, and most dealers tell me they are not sure. Does the Super Snake edition have the seats labeled super snake, the snake logos, says gt500 super snake on the side, super snake on the lower rad, etc So far all the ones I have looked at have the Snake logos on them but don't say super snake on the side or on the rad. EX- https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/m-Earth-MotorCars-sp301868#listing=163010400 EX- https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/m-Camarena-Auto-sp309635#listing=161932271 Sorry if this is a stupid question. I love Shelbys there just isn't much info out there to help me out with this, and since I wasn't watching Shelby's in 13'/14' and just started catching up again so I am not sure if they even made anything besides the super snakes for those years. Also 2013 vs 2014 opinions? I know the differences were pretty minor, and I think I am leaning towards the 2013 model a little. Have big plans to swap out for 3.73's, throttle body and intake upgrades, etc.
  10. Being an owner in a fairly remote area, this has always been a question of mine. I have been able to take care of changing the clutch myself, as well as other basic needs, but I don't have a tire changing machine in my garage! I recently purchased new shoes for my wide body Super Snake, and being where I live, I could not find a trustworthy place to change something as simple as tires. I actually went to a few local tire shops, and they flat out told me they would not touch them!(at least they were honest, I commend them for that) I finally found the tires in stock on Tire Rack (FYI, MPSS are on Sale!!), and on their site, they offer ship to installer services. I did a little research and found a shop about 75 miles from me that deals with Continental Series, as well as SCCA cars. They showed no restrictions for changing the massive rear 345's! I hope to have finally found my solution to a long standing issue, but I will not find out for sure until Monday when I can call them. Question to everyone out there: How have you addressed your needs if you live in remote areas? I know there are some folks on here that live in far more remote areas than I. Thanks in advance! Jim

  17. Apologies for this newbie question but I did search and browse around here quite a bit first. Granted I did get side-tracked with lots of interesting posts and info I'm considering the purchase of a 2008 Shelby GT 500 that is being touted as a Super Snake. But it's not the original owner and I'm concerned about its authenticity. I have its VIN# and rooted around on the SAI website that is often referenced here, but for the life of me can't find any way of really authenticating it. Thanks....I'm heading back to reading more threads!!
  18. Well here are some pics from our museum delivery. The pics are so nice I think they really capture the wide body look. Enjoy!
  19. Hi all, I just want to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Manfred, I'm German, 52 years old, mechanical engineer and I do own two GT500. The first one is a 2008 model, coupé in Alloy Grey. This car is since July 2008 my daily driver from April till October. The second one is a 2011 SS coupé in Kona Blue that I use for special events or longer trips/holydays with my wife in Europe. Looking forward to become part of your community. Manfred
  20. Installing the SS splitter took some modifications to the mounting holes on the carbon fiber part. The factory plastic part has much larger mounting holes to account for manufacturing variability. A few of the bolts on my car were stripped. They are a special order part at the Ford dealer. Thanks to Shelby American for shipping the part in time make multiple Mustang specialty events, and the Woodward Dream Cruise.
  21. OK, it's THAT TIME! We'll be shutting down the pre-order program soon - we're just about sold out. There MAY be a few more deposit positions available, could be minutes, could be hours. It's the last run. This Pre-Order is the only way to get yourself on the list. IF YOU WANT THESE WHEELS, GET YOUR DEPOSIT IN NOW: http://www.shelbystore.com/Pre-Order-p/8s3z-1007-pre.htm Thanks, everyone, for your support of this special project celebrating Fifty Years of Shelby American! 22. I have owned my 2012 GT500 for one exactly one year today. Owned the brand new Alcoa Super Snake wheels for six month. Unfortunately the car has spent and enormous amount of time at my local Ford Service Department. The service department has worked on the TPMS and a squeaking noise off and on since I took delivery. A month ago they mentioned they would have to remove a tire from one of my Alcoa wheels in order to troubleshoot the TPMS sensor in the wheel. The next day the service rep called me and said the car was ready for pick up. A a smart-junction box was on order for the TPMS. When I picked the car up I walked around to inspect for damage, but didn't look closely at the wheels. I took the car home and parked it in the garage since they still can't figure out the embarrassing loud squeak coming from the rear of the car. Two weeks later I get a call telling me the smart junction box was in and I could bring the car in for the repair. I pulled my car out of the garage to give it a wash before heading to the dealership. While washing the right front wheel i find two large gouges on the outer bead of the wheel. Sickening feeling!!! I took the car to the service department and showed them the damage and explained that it look like the tire guy used a crow bar on my tire. The service manger said "yes, they should have used a plastic bar and not a steel one". He told me not to worry and that he would look into it. I was a dumb ass for falling for that! The dealer had my car over night while working the TPMS. The next morning I got a call from the service rep who told me the technician had documented the damage on the wheel during the previous visit. They have time and date stamped photos of the damage wheel. He went on to explain how the technician followed company policy to perform a walk around inspection prior to performing maintenance on the car. I was in complete disbelief. I went immediately to the dealer. They showed me photos that had no such time and date stamp. The photos were of the specific wheel in question. Funny how they missed a huge white scrape on my race red paint....no picture of that. I look over the car and low and behold I find damage now on the left front wheel. Almost the exact same type of mark. No pictures of this damage. I later spoke to the owner. He asked why I would ever put aftermarket wheels on the car. He said it does more damage and said the wheels were cheap. Probably made in China! Mind you he is talking about the Alcoa Super Snake wheels that carry the Shelby stamp. Please take a look at the wheel. They say I curbed it. I assure you the car has never been curbed. All maintenance has been performed by this dealership.
  23. The Pre-Order program is now sold out. Thanks, everyone, for your support of this special project celebrating Fifty Years of Shelby American! Jer
