Here's a couple of links to view pictures from the Coronado Speed Festival held at Naval Base Coronado on September 19 - 20. The marquee this year was the Historic Trans-Am and the event also celebrated the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. The Coronado Speed Festival will occur on September 20 and 21 at Naval Air Station North Island on Coronado, San Diego (similar to the Monterey Historic races). Mustangs of all vintages and types (race cars included) are needed for the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang for a car corral display and a parade lap on the race track (Saturday). We have about 30 Mustangs so far and need at least 50. Email me, Tim Reeve @ptree918@sbcglobal.net if you're interested in participating. There's also TV promos available on Sunday 9/14 and Tuesday 9/16 to show off your Mustangs.

The 17th annual Coronado Speed Festival (CSF), "Race at the Base", will occur September 20 - 21 on Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI), birthplace of Naval aviation. This CSF is part of the Fleet Week's celebration of the military's men and women and runs from August 30 to November 21, one of the events is the CSF. This year's marquee is the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang. There will be a special Mustang display in the car corral featuring Mustangs from all years and types. There will also be a parade lap featuring 50 Mustangs. This is a great event to attend and is affordable and accessible to everyone. If you are in the San Diego area on these days and want to participate in the car corral and/or the parade lap, please pm me. No guarantees on being being selected for the parade lap. The 2013 edition of the Coronado Speed Festival (CSF) is almost here. It will occur on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2013 on the base at NAS North Island Coronado in Coronado, CA (across the bay from San Diego). The CSF is part of the U.S. Navy's Fleet Week celebration. The marquee this year will feature the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911. Hi Everyone Went to the 15th annual (2012) Coronado Speed Festival (CSF) on September 21 - 23, 2012 at Naval Air Station North Island. There were 10 race groups featuring vintage race cars from different eras. The featured marquee this year was Shelby vehicles. On Saturday there was a "Shelby Through the Years" tribute parade lap sponsored by the SoCal SAAC Shelby Club (San Diego Region) and featured Shelby vehicles from 1962 to the present. Thirty-five Shelby vehicles participated in the parade lap and included an assortment of Cobras, a Tiger and Shelby Mustangs. Also featured this year at the CSF was the 50th Anniversary of the Navy SEALS.
